These are all opportunities that we can use to deepen our lives, for example, in the spiritual dimension. In February, as a church, we also think of the sick, whose World Day we celebrate on February 11th. The day after, we will collectively administer the sacrament of the sick in our parish.
During the week of February 4th, there will be no Bible study on Tuesday. I remind you of the sacrament of the sick, which will be administered during the Mass on Monday, February 12th; please come to register in the sacristy at the Church of the Holy Family. Please inform your relatives about the possibility of receiving it, especially those who may not regularly attend church or have concerns. I also ask for your involvement in services during the liturgy, such as reading, singing, or collecting offerings. It is a service to the community, but also a deeper experience of the liturgy. Next Sunday, the Mass will be broadcast on Czech Radio.
During the week of February 11th, we have the following events: during Monday's Mass, the sacrament of the sick will be administered. On Tuesday, there will be an online catechism class at 8:30 PM. Wednesday is a day of strict fasting, with a fast from meat; for Christians between the ages of 18 and 60, there is also a fasting of restriction (maximum of one full meal per day). In the evening at 6 PM, there will be a Mass during which ashes will be distributed. On Thursday at 7 PM, there will be a meeting at the Club over Scripture and the topic. Before the Lenten season, the bishops sent us a pastoral letter, which is attached to this article and will be read on Sunday, February 11th.
During the week of February 18th, there will be a server meeting on Monday at 5 PM at the Church of the Holy Family. On Tuesday at 6:45 PM, there will be a meeting of the parish's economic council at St. Martin's Church; therefore, there will be no online Bible study. On Friday after the Mass, there will be a Stations of the Cross prayer. On Saturday, March 2nd, there will be a parish spiritual renewal at the Strahov Monastery starting at 9 AM. Registration is as usual here on the parish website. The spiritual renewal will be led by Capuchin Father Bonaventura Štivar; more information is on the flyer attached. Next Sunday, Sister Leonie will renew her religious vows during the Mass. The collection next Sunday is for the so-called St. Peter's Pence, to support the charitable activities of the Holy See. In 2023, a total of 1,143,289 CZK was collected in this offering.
During the week of February 25th, there will be a prayer with songs from Taizé on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Family. On Tuesday at 8:30 PM, there will be an online catechism class. On Friday, March 1st, we will start preparing children for their first Holy Communion at the Club at 4:45 PM. On Saturday at 9 AM, there will be a parish spiritual renewal at Strahov. Please send in your registrations preferably by Tuesday so we can arrange the meals. After next Sunday's Mass, there will be a parish coffee; please bring some refreshments, thank you in advance. Today's collection is for St. Peter's Pence.
