I would like to announce that on Sunday, September 6th, after Mass (from approximately 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM), we will reopen our CLUB. Attention: I have a surprise for you! You are now older and more mature, so I'm taking a chance and we will try working with biblical characters. For well-behaved children, I will even let them handle the materials. I believe that with the help of your parents, we can do this. It is definitely worth trying, and we will see how it goes from there. You are welcome to invite friends who you don't have email contact with. Sincerely, Marie Svatošová. On Tuesday, starting at 8:30 PM, we will be holding an online Bible study session. We will continue reading the 8th chapter of the Gospel of John. Next Sunday, September 13th, starting at 3:00 PM, we invite you to a parish picnic in the garden of the "Domov" retirement home. Following the picnic, from 4:30 PM, we will have a meeting with ornithologist Jaroslav Cepák, who will demonstrate how birds are captured. Organizational details can be found on the poster located at the bottom among the downloadable files. There will not be regular parish coffee this Sunday. We are looking for...
This fall, we plan to organize benefit concerts at KD Průhon. We are still looking for more bands that could fill the dates of November 18th or 25th, or December 3rd. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please contact Mrs. Pavla Hovorková at:
hovorko@email.cz or by phone: 723 482 011. We are primarily looking for local bands. Thank you in advance!
Invitation to the Path of Reconciliation
The starting point was not chosen randomly. Ladislav Mácha came from Višňová, who, in his youth, traveled from here to the Holy Mountain. Later, however, his name became associated primarily with the brutal investigation of Father Josef Toufar, in whose suffering and subsequent death he played a significant role.
It is precisely between these two places that we want to walk a path that will not be a major public gesture or demonstration. We will mostly walk in silence, fasting, and quiet personal prayer. We will begin at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Catherine in Višňová and we plan to arrive around 4:00 PM at the Toufar Cross on the meadow below the basilica on the Holy Mountain, where a plaque commemorating the suffering and death of Father Josef Toufar will also be renewed.
This pilgrimage is especially intended for people who are troubled by strained relationships in their family, marriage, or partnership – those who cannot forgive, have stopped talking to each other, have broken contact, or have been carrying pain, injury, or rejection for a long time and do not know how to overcome it.
I believe that in almost every parish and community, there is someone who is experiencing this kind of pain. And perhaps such a journey could appeal to them,
regardless of whether they are regular churchgoers, distant Christians, or do not consider themselves religious at all. We do not want to offer anyone simple instructions for reconciliation.
We want to create a space where people can walk part of the way, be silent, reflect, pray – and perhaps take at least the first step towards change.
Therefore, I urge you: if possible, please post the attached poster, publish it on the website or social media of the parish, or mention the pilgrimage during announcements. It would be even more valuable if you remember someone specific who might benefit from such a journey and personally inform them about it.
At Holy Mountain, we will join the regular mass at 5:00 PM without any special service. We also want to see this as a sign of hope: that even a relationship that seems irrevocably broken can return to "normal" with God's help and through the intercession of the Virgin Mary.
Thank you for supporting this journey, perhaps through prayer today.
With heartfelt greetings,
P. Miloš Szabo, priest of Prague-Hlubočepy.
I wish you all the best and God's blessings.
